Hollow Knight: Silksong is still 100% Real
The bigest surprise for me during the Gamescom Opening Night Live, when host Geoff Keighley declared that Hollow Knight: Silksong is “100% launching this year,” meaning 2025. On top of that, a hands-on demo was available at the show floor, and players came away impressed by how sharp and fluid the game felt. On the Nintendo Switch 2, the demo even supported a 120 Hz TV mode, giving Hornet’s fast, acrobatic combat an extra level of smoothness. Early impressions from attendees praised both the responsiveness of the controls and the overall polish, with many calling it the highlight of the booth.

Silksong tomorrow!
A follow-up “special announcement” is scheduled for Thursday, August 21, and fans can tune in live at 7:30 AM PT / 10:30 AM ET / 3:30 PM BST via Team Cherry’s YouTube channel (Link Below). My Theory is it will be a reveal of a release date, or, in the wildest scenario, a surprise shadow drop of Silksong itself. Now just imagine if we can all play Silksong tomorrow! Either outcome could be monumental, and after the electrifying first day of Gamescom, the internet is absolutely ablaze. This is hands-down my standout highlight of the show so far.
Update: Team Cherry has officially announced that Hollow Knight: Silksong will release on September 4, 2025. Watch the trailer below:
Why did it take 7 years to make Silksong?
Update: The Article is now out (link below). Another wild piece of Silksong news is that Jason Schreier announced that this Thursday he’ll be publishing the full story on why it has taken Team Cherry seven years to make Silksong. I’ll be updating this blog post as soon as that article drops.

Sekiro: No Defeat Anime
The announcement of Sekiro: No Defeat has me absolutely buzzing. I loved playing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice back on the PS4, and now seeing it reimagined as an anime is incredible. The reveal trailer is already here on YouTube: Watch the Sekiro: No Defeat trailer.
Recent game to anime adaptations like Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and NieR:Automata Ver1.1a have been nothing short of amazing, blending rich worlds with strong storytelling. If Sekiro follows that same path, we could be looking at something truly special. I honestly can’t wait to see how they bring the brutal yet beautiful world of Ashina to life in anime form.
Cult of the Lamb – Winter Survival Expansion (Early 2026)
One of my favorite indie gems is getting a story expansion where our camp must survive the winter, launching in early 2026. The trailer gave me chills with its cold, survivalist vibe, and I’m already shivering to dive back in next year. I was already planning on re-playing it at some point in the future, but now is the perfect timing! If you loved the original’s dark and cute charm, this looks like it will hit just as hard!

Quick Summary of Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven
- Discover Woolhaven: Return lost souls to their home, rebuild the town, and restore the power of Yngya. Every choice carries a cost.
- Survive the winter: Endure blizzards and freezing temperatures that threaten your cult. Build new structures to keep followers warm and to prevent frostbite and famine.
- Explore the mountain: Enter a new realm filled with bitter storms and corrupted creatures. Fight through two large dungeons where echoes of the past refuse to rest. Each soul you redeem strains the land and endangers the Lands of the Old Faith.
- Take up ranching: Unlock ranching and breed rare animals for wool, warmth, and, in desperate moments, meat. Tame and ride them, and let followers care for the herd.
Kirby Air Riders Direct: Release Date Revealed
I am not going to dive into details as Sakurai’s 45 minute Kirby Air Riders Direct gives a perfect overview of the game. All I can say is that as someone who spent countless hours racing with my brother on the original Gamecube game, seeing it return like this is pure nostalgia. The gameplay on Switch 2 looks absolutely gorgeous, and the races moved at lightning fast speeds. Mario Kart has serious competition. I can’t wait to get my hands on it on November 20, 2025.
Surprise Shadow Drop of Morsels Release Date
I first caught the reveal of Morsels in the Nintendo Direct during the Indie World Showcase on August 27, 2024, and as a massive fan of roguelikes like The Binding of Isaac, this weird little game got me buzzing instantly. Morsels is as quirky as it sounds. You play as a mouse who transforms into a Morsel, a twisted creature with strange combat powers set loose against street cats and other forces that rule the upper world.

The developers surprised me by shadow dropping the release date in the trailer. Morsels launches on November 18, 2025, and it is confirmed for Nintendo Switch through the eShop.
