A new Nintendo Direct is heavily rumored for late July 2025, following the recent release of Donkey Kong Bananza on July 17. Based on insider reports, the next full Direct is expected during the final week of July. This would allow Nintendo to avoid clashing with its Q2 earnings report on August 1, maintaining the spotlight for its major announcements.
Update July 30: The new Nintendo Direct will be a Partner Showcase and its slated for tomorrow, July 31, at 9am EST! Let's keep our fingers crossed for Silkson updates.
Update July 31: The Partner Showcase was quite dissapointing in my opinion. You can check out the announcement in the Youtube video below. I am hoping we don’t have to wait too long for a proper Nintendo Direct or Indie World Showcase with some big Switch 2 surprises!
Here are all the games revealed in the latest #NintendoDirect: Partner Showcase! Which ones are you looking forward to playing the most?

One of the strongest voices backing this timing is Kit Ellis, a former Nintendo marketing lead. He explained that Nintendo’s silence around the Switch 2 roadmap cannot continue much longer, especially without a clear release date for the highly anticipated Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.

What To Expect in the Next Nintendo Direct
Here’s what industry insiders predict will be revealed in the upcoming presentation:

- Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
- A new gameplay showcase, possibly with a release window. Fans have waited long enough.
- Kirby Air Riders and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment
- Both announced earlier but awaiting official release details. I am really looking forward to a new Kirby Air Riders!
- The Duskbloods (FromSoftware Switch 2 Exclusive)
- A dark, mysterious title with FromSoftware’s signature style. Expect a teaser or cinematic reveal. As a fan of Elden Ring, I am looking forward to this one.
- Major Third-Party Titles
- Several developers are reportedly holding announcements, waiting for this Direct to unveil their next big releases for the Switch 2.

If these rumors hold true, this could be one of Nintendo’s most important Directs in years.

My Ultimate Nintendo Switch Direct Wishlist
Top 10
While we wait, here’s my personal wishlist of 10 games I’m hoping to see announced, ported, or teased during the next Nintendo Direct. I’ve included game overviews, trailers, and platform status for each.
1. Ena: Dream BBQ
When I saw official Ena merch drop on Fangamer, I was immediately curious. After watching the trailer on Steam, I knew this bizarre, surreal game was exactly my kind of experience. As a huge fan of weird games, manga, and anime, this one instantly hooked me.
Currently Available: PC (Steam)
Switch Port: No confirmation yet, fingers crossed!
2. Blue Prince
This indie darling is being hailed as a potential game of the year. A mind-bending puzzle experience that’s still mysterious, but everything I’ve seen makes me want to get lost in its world.
Currently Available: PC (Steam Early Access)
Switch Port: No announcement yet. It would be perfect timing with Switch 2’s release.
3. Expedition 33
Easily one of my personal game of the year contender. I finished it on PS5, and the story, characters, and soundtrack stayed with me long after the credits rolled. If you haven’t played it yet, you’re missing out. I am hoping it comes to the Switch 2, so I can play the game again along with all the end game content while on the go (AKA my bed and couch).

Currently Available: PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC
Switch Port: No official plans yet. Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Wheeeee Whooooo!
4. Paper Mario 64 Remake

This game defined my childhood. My brother and I rented the N64 cartridge from Blockbuster every week for about a year, every save file was ours. Then one Christmas, my parents surprised us with a copy they’d found on eBay. It’s memories I’ll never forget.
After the incredible Thousand-Year Door remake, I’m really hoping for a full remake of Paper Mario 64, or at least a true sequel with classic turn-based gameplay.
Currently Available: N64 Online Service
Wishlist: Full remake or sequel announcement.
5. Hades II
All I want is a new trailer and a release date for Hades II on Switch 2. After the success of the first game, this one’s a must-play. I’ve been following Supergiant Games since their first title, Bastion, and they just keep outdoing themselves with every release.
Currently Available: PC (Early Access)
Switch Port: Confirmed as an early console exclusive for Switch 2, but no release date has been announced yet.
6. A New Mario Game (2D or 3D)
A new Mario title would make me extremely happy. Whether it’s another 2D platformer like Super Mario Wonder or a grand 3D adventure like Odyssey, I’ll take anything at this point!

7. Pokémon Remake
My heart hopes for remakes of Black & White, Sun & Moon, or Emerald, some of my favorite Pokémon generations. If any remake happens, it will likely be announced in the next Pokémon Presents, on July 22nd.
1 week to go! 🎉

8. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Remake
My all-time favorite Zelda. The dark story, Midna being such an incredible character, and the atmospheric world make this a dream remake for me. A full ground-up remake using modern assets would be amazing.
Note: While it received an HD remaster on Wii U, it wasn’t included in the recent GameCube Online expansion, so I will take it as a sign to keep hoping.
9. Hollow Knight: Silksong
Development started back in 2019. Team Cherry promised a 2025 release, but fans have heard almost nothing since early 2024. They dropped a teaser during the Switch 2 reveal, but now we’re waiting anxiously for a firm release date. Will this Direct finally deliver or will we be let down again?
Currently Available: N/A (Still in development)
10. UFO 50
A collection of 50 retro-inspired games, this project has been in development for years. It’s available on Steam, but a Switch port seems like a perfect fit for its couch multiplayer design.
Currently Available: PC (Steam)
Switch Port: No official announcement.
Honorable Mentions
- Neverway: A new project with the pixel artist behind Celeste! No Switch announcement yet.
- Peak: A fun-looking co-op game I’d love to play with friends on the couch.
- Grunn: Creepy, weird, and exactly my vibe.
- Animal Crossing: Rumors of a new title are circulating.
- Billy Hatcher Remake: I loved this GameCube classic and would love to see it return.
